Things to keep in mind…
- Know who you want to interview.
- Know what you want to find out.
Before Your Interview…
- Prepare your questions!
- No Yes or No questions!
- Do research!
- Come up with your own note taking system.
Preparing for the Interview…
- Have confidence in yourself.
- Don’t rush into it!
a) Get comfortable and make the person feel comfortable.
During your Interview…
- Take notes!
- Know about the subject you’re interviewing on!
- Draw out your information through your questions.
a) Ask in depth questions!
b) Ask why?
- Observe their actions
Use Quotes…
- Use as many direct quotes as possible!
- Quote EXACTLY what the person said!
a) Do NOT change their words in any way.
Verify your Facts…
- Make sure names are spelt correctly!
a) Don’t be afraid to ask the person to spell out their name.
- Make sure all Dates are correct!
- All your facts need to be correct or they WON’T be facts!
